The Southwestern Hills Neighborhood general meeting was attended by over 60 neighbors. Speakers and Guests included Parks and Recreation, Police Department, Public Works and City Council. Questions were addressed from the audience and each person had an opportunity to be involved. We will always try to keep you informed on issues via newsletter, Facebook, postcard or our website. Important issues are not an individual matter in our neighborhood, we are all on the team.
City Trash Bash Day
What a great neighborhood we live in. Southwestern Hills is a wonderful place to raise a family. We have miles of green parkways, trails and lots of water areas for everyone to enjoy. We have changing beauty in each of the four seasons, and the unity of good neighbors. We see the majesty of wildlife everyday. We are part of a great city.
Our neighbors get involved in several activities throughout the year. We hosted a well attended school board election forum in September. Our "Neighbors Night Out" free picnic, held every August, was attended by over 200 people at the new location, Wakonda Christian Church. The winter holiday season was beautiful as always with all the lights and displays at Waterworks Park and in the neighborhood. It won't be long before spring brings the explosion of greenery, flowers and new animal life. Then the busy days of summer, with the yard work, kids games and being outside..... Can't wait.
Your neighborhood board works hard for you and our neighborhood. If you have a situation and feel neighborhood support will help, we will always work for a positive solution. Attend neighborhood meetings, stay involved and lets keep it going.
